La Villa Retreat boutique winelands accommodation in Franschhoek is for guests only.
However, we invite you to visit Farm Sanctuary SA. the neighbouring charitable sanctuary that rescues farmed animals and offers a host of unique experiences for the entire family. Grab a food tray and treat their rescued farmed animals to a happy snack, admire the works of their famous painting pig, Pigcasso. You can even commission your very own masterpiece by the fine swine! Savour a wine tasting and enjoy a healthy wholesome meal at the Wonki Donkey Deli that is located inside the barn.

With grapes being Pigcasso’s favourite food, it only made logical sense to heed her call to produce her very own wine label from the grapes harvested on the sanctuary property! Introducing the range of robust wines, inspired by the ‘full-bodied’ creative that resides among the voluptuous vineyards of Farm Sanctuary SA. Crafted to arouse the most discerning taste and ignite the most delicate discussion.

La Villa Retreat is a private Franschhoek winelands estate but Farm Sanctuary SA, Wonki Donkey Deli and Pigcasso wine-tasting are open daily to the general public 9am - 4pm. Admission is free and no bookings are required. Kindly note that Joanne Lefson and Pigcasso do not do public painting demonstrations.
